Jamie and Christian - the grand staircase to the stars -- at A Cloudberry Lookout -- September, 2003

Note:  Normally this young of a child is not allowed to stay - but this family knew me

and knew he would mind and not get hurt from the high stairs  --

be sure to call and ask if you have little ones before making reservations!

This is Sean McGuire - the designer and builder of this most magnificent log cabin with

a 50 foot high warmed viewing tower for the auroral displays to be seen in the cold Alaskan dark skies

Sean is also written up in the Guiness Book of World Records!

 Yet another first for Christian!

When I saw the aurora borealis during the Leonid Meteor Shower in November, 2001

it made me think of images like this NASA image called The Eye of God

Imagine the aurora dancing and being pierced by many

meteorites - some meteorites were seen in Houston, Texas - even with all the light pollution there!

I even saw the rare BLACK AURORA  --

As if the hand of God brushed light across the heavens

Santa keeps his reindeer here - out back in a petting zoo

His beard is long - even in the summer

Christian pulled Santa's whiskers - they were real!

Christian took dog sledding lessons in Fairbanks

and got his certificate for a young dog sledder!
